To those of you who have exhibited at MCN conferences in the past, we again express our appreciation and gratitude. To those of you who have never exhibited with us, we invite you to do so this year. We are pleased to advise you that the 2002 MCN Conference will be presented in partnership with the Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN). For those of you not familiar with CHIN, it is the electronic gateway to the museum community in Canada and beyond and features a number of on-line presentations about Canadian museums.

This meeting will focus on the theme ãIn it for the long haul ö technology programs that go the distance.ä Todayâs challenge for museums is investing in long-term, sustainable digital initiatives which seamlessly and cost-effectively meld into the museumâs mission, programs and operations. Presentations will include candid case studies of projects that worked and ones that could have gone better. We will also explore emerging issues surrounding how museums can change pilot projects, one-off programs and just-planned initiatives into ongoing, sustainable investments by using strategies such as:

ð Program planning, budgeting and management
ð Integrated information management
ð Content development
ð Audience delivery
ð Collaboration and partnership
ð Standards for information access and exchange
ð Digital preservation

The Conference will be held at the very modern and up-to-date Hilton Toronto from September 4-7, 2002. Toronto is a beautiful, cosmopolitan city that will be made even more enjoyable by the fact that our friends from CHIN will be present at the conference.

Sponsoring companies will be recognized with a printed sign at the exhibit hall entrance, a plaque or certificate to display at their booth, a listing in the Annual Conference Program Book and Spectra, the official quarterly publication of the MCN and on the MCN Web site.

Conference activities that are available for sponsorship in addition to exhibiting include: educational sessions, keynote speaker, the program book, the grand opening reception, the attendee e-mail center and conference bags.

Please note that these are suggestions. If you have other suggestions, MCN is very amenable to coordinating your activities and interests.

CONFERENCE PROGRAM ADVERTISING
Advertising in the Conference program book provides an economical way to reach attendees both during and after the conference. Discounted rates are available if you exhibit and advertise in the program book. The rates are as follows:

Any vendor (exhibitor or not) may distribute product literature via the registration packets given to all attendees at the conference. There is a limit of three insertions per vendor/exhibitor. Shipping instructions will be provided by the MCN Office.

SPONSOR OR CO-SPONSOR A SPECIAL EVENT . . . . . . . . . . . . . (Price depends on event)
These events can include Continental breakfasts or coffee breaks in the Exhibit Hall or evening receptions or get creative and call us. Sponsors will receive:
